Nameri, Nameri National Park is a national park in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India, about 35 km from Tezpur. Nameri is about 9 km from Chariduar, the nearest village. Nameri shares its northern boundary with the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh.

Dirang, Dirang is a village in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. West Kameng is the name of the district that contains village Dirang. Dirang is one of the 60 constituencies of Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh. Name of current MLA (August-2016) of this constituency is Phurpa Tsering.

Tawang, Tawang is a town and the headquarters of an eponymous district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. China claims the region as part of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Tawang is situated 448 km north-west of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3,048 metres.

Bomdila, Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Bomdila is one of the 60 constituencies of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

DAY 01- ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI AIRPORT & TRANSFER TO NAMERI

Upon arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, our representative will receive you and guide you to a designated vehicle. Board the vehicle, you will be transferred to Nameri (200Km/5hr). After reaching Nameri, check in at the hotel for your overnight stay.

DAY 02- TRANSFER TO DIRANG FROM NAMERI

Early in the morning we will take you to Nameri National Park. Go bird watching and spot them in their vicinity, with more than 300 species of birds which also shelters rare and endangered “White Winged Wood Duck '' also catch tigers in action as Nameri tiger reserve is under Project Tiger, it also houses a wide variety of reptiles, fishes and mammals. Post breakfast, for adventure seekers and offbeat travellers go tracking and raft down Jia Bharali River (smooth water rafting). After lunch drive uphill to Dirang, entering Arunachal Pradesh, “the land of rising sun”. The place greets you with breathtaking valleys, misty rivers and stunning waterfalls. After this enjoyable and memorable tour, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

DAY 03- TRANSFER TO TAWANG FROM DIRANG

Post breakfast, explore Dirang small hill station in west Kameng district. Its spectacular landscape and beauteous nature will surely please your eyes and comfort your body and soul. We will visit Kalachakra Gompa also referred to as Dirang Monastery and perceive the serene land. Witness kiwi orchids, then to Dirang Dzong (fort) which is about 150 years old and have an excellent view of the surrounding. Later proceed to Tawang, with mountain curve the river Kameng flow along. Witness Sela – Pass, world second highest motor able road, with bright coloured flags fluttering all around at an altitude of 13,700ft. Know about Jaswant Garh memorial-cum-mandir. Enjoy spectacular Nuranang Fall (Bong Bong Fall), 100m height. After this pulsating and soul – stirring journey have a warm and comfortable overnight stay in Tawang.

Kalachakra Gompa: Kalachakra is a 500 years old monastery in Arunachal Pradesh, which makes it quite a famous tourist attraction in the state. The monastery is situated in a village of the same name. It is a beautiful little monastery with mosaic work. Mostly Buddhist monks and pilgrims are seen visiting this sacred place.
Dirang Dzong or Dirang fort : Dirang Dzong or Dirang fort was built in the 17th century to protect Bomdila from the neighbouring states. The fort was used as a jail during the world war period. It is located atop a hill and comprises four storied fortified stone slabs that are supported by wooden logs. The entrance wooden gate is decorated with local architectural designs and is definitely an eye catcher. The architecture of these houses is worth appreciating.
Sela Pass: The Sela Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh state in India. It has an elevation of 4170 m and connects the Indian Buddhist town of Tawang to Dirang and Guwahati.
Jaswant Garh War Memorial: Jaswant Garh is a famous tourist attraction in Arunachal Pradesh and it is widely visited all year round. Jaswant Garh was famously known as Jaswantgarh War Memorial and this memorial is garland in honor of late Jaswant Singh Rawat. He was an Indian rifleman of 4 Garhwal Rifles, Uttarakhand and for his bravery; Jaswant Rawat was honored by a memorial at the post where he fought the Chinese army. Today, you can notice Jaswant Garh flocking with visitors from different states. This is a major tourist attraction to visit in Arunachal Pradesh.
Nuranang Falls: Nuranang Falls, some 100 metres high, is located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in this part of the country, yet is unknown to many travelers.

DAY 04- EXCURSION OF TAWANG

Post breakfast, have a holy visit to Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgyal Lhatse), Asia’s second largest and India’s largest Buddhist Monastery which was built about 350 years ago in the 17thCentury. Explore age old artefacts related to Tawang Monastery and Mompa people of Tawang. Get a picturesque view of Tawang township in the heart of sky-piercing mountains. Then we move on to The Tawang War Memorial, a beautiful stupa built in memory of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in 1962 Sino-Indian war. Take home local carpet woven by local ladies, Mompa traditional mask as a token of memory from Craft Centre Emporium. In the evening, enjoy light and sound shows. After this, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Tawang.

Tawang Monastery: Tawang Monastery, located in Tawang city of Tawang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, is the largest monastery in India and second largest in the world after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.
Gyangong Ani Gompa: Gyangong Ani Gompa in Tawang Arunachal Pradesh is a beautiful Nunnery, having about 50 Buddhist Nuns. The Nunnery is located on top of a beautiful hillock about 5 km away in the north of Tawang. Founded by Mera Lam Lodre Gyamtso, the Nunnery was subsequently offered by him to his elder sister.
This Ani Gompa is under the control of Tawang Monastery. The Tawang monastery provides for the everyday needs of the nuns and their monastery. The Location of nunnery and the customs being followed here by the nuns reminds one of a bygone era, when Buddhism was preached in a calm and serene atmosphere under the shades of a tree.
Urgelling Monastery: Urgelling Gompa is at a distance of around 3 kms from Tawang Township and is reckoned to be the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Tashi. The monastery was built in 1487 AD here and His Holiness the 6th Dalai Lama, was born in 1683 and resided in Urgelling Village. It is a small monastery that holds great significance for the people of Buddhist faith.
Tawang Handicraft Emporium: If you are looking for a place in Tawang for purchasing Shawls, carpets, handcrafted bags, local tribal dresses etc. then the Arunachal Pradesh government’s Handicraft Emporium is the place to be in. Opened from 9 AM to 4 PM daily, this store is located near to the District Commissioner’s office. This is popular for its known for selling authentic goods and that too at reasonable prices. Since the place is controlled by the government of Arunachal Pradesh, it appeals to the tourists for they can rely on it for the authenticity of the goods that they are purchasing from there. Of course, unlike local shops, you cannot bargain here, as it's a fixed price shop. However, you would surely find all handicraft related products that are indigenous to the region of Tawang.
Pro Tip: Buy the traditional items here as you'll not get the finer quality elsewhere.
Giant Buddha Statue: This statue can be seen from almost everywhere. It is located on a small hill & offers some really good views. Apart from these main places, Tawang is filled with small Gompas all around the town. Keep an additional day to explore places around Tawang (which is more important & beautiful).
Tawang War Memorial: One of the must-visit spots in the town is the war memorial. This memorial was built to honour soldiers who gave their life for this country during the 1962 Indo-China war. The memorial contains a lot of weapons from 1962. Many written documents are also on display. The entire war strategy of 1962 is kept there which is very interesting to see.
There is a light & sound show conducted by the army every evening at 5:30 PM. It is fantastic & you shouldn’t miss it.

DAY 05- AROUND TAWANG SIGHTSEEING

Post breakfast, start your day with a breathtaking view of Shonga-tser Lake (Madhuri Lake), surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the valley offering a spectacular view. Next move on to Bum La Pass about 37km away from Tawang, it is the indo-china border that lies at 15,200 ft above sea level. On your way back stop by heart lake, PTSO lake, Naghula lake, which will surely make your day. After this, return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Tawang.

Bumla Pass: Located at the Indo-China border, around 37 kilometers from Tawang, the road to the Bum La Pass is of immense historical importance for the Sino-Indian War battle of 1962 took place here, between the armies of India and China, for the latter had invaded the former. Currently the pass serves as one of the four Border Personnel Meeting Points between both the armies, where regular consultations and interactions are held between the two armies for avoiding face-offs and misunderstandings. Apart from its historical and political significance, this pass has some religious significance too, for this is the route that His Holiness the Dalai Lama took for escaping China in order to seek refuge in India. For visiting this pass, one requires a special permit from the Indian Army.
Pankang Teng Tso Lake: Pankang Teng Tso Lake, also called as Ptso Lake is situated 17 km from Tawang. The lake remains frozen during winter and the area around the lake supports skiing. To enjoy the calm waters moving about slowly in an atmosphere where you could not miss even the smallest whispers of nature.
Shonga-tser Lake (Madhuri Lake): Formed by a flash flood after an earthquake in the year 1950, Madhuri Lake is originally known as Shonga-tser Lake, which is one of the most popular lakes in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The lake was renamed after the shooting of Bollywood movie Koyla, starring Madhuri Dixit, the beautiful actress. The lake has been surrounded by wonderfully lush valleys, and snow-capped mountains. A leisure walk is the best way to explore the picturesque surroundings of the lake.
Nagula Lake: Nagula Lake is a high altitude lake near to Tawang, which is located at an elevation of about 4300 meters above sea level. This is a must visit picturesque destination for nature lovers. The beautiful reflection of the mountain peaks on the pristine water of the Nagula Lake and the scenic beauty of the surroundings are just mesmerising. The lake is frozen almost all times apart from the summer months of April to May and during September and October. Brahminy ducks can also be seen in plenty around Nagula Lake. This area also has a high military presence due to its proximity to the international border. There are roads to reach this place and plenty of international tourists come to visit the lake lately. Even though the military presence is highly essential to ensure national security, the army is taking care of an eco-friendly approach around Nagula Lake while thinking of new constructions and roads.

DAY 06- TRANSFER TO BOMDILA FROM TAWANG

Post breakfast, we will move on to Bomdila. Pay a visit to Bomdila Monastery, which was established in the year of 1965. Explore over 5000 orchid varieties including some rarest species of orchid in Tipi Orchidarium. This will be shown to you on the next day, en-route to airport drop. In Bomdila, have a spectacular view from Bomdila View Point, witness impeccable beauty of Bomdila. In the evening, enjoy the local market. Afterwards return to your hotel for the overnight stay in Bomdila.

Bomdila Monastery: Inaugurated in 1965, this abode to Buddhist monks and Llamas is the biggest attraction in Bomdila. The monastery is also believed to be an exact replica of Tsona Gontse Monastery, Tibet.
This monastery in Bomdila is constructed by who was believed to be the 12th reincarnate of Tsona Rinpoche. The monastery belongs to Mahayana Buddhism. A huge prayer hall has also, recently, been added to the structure. Another major part and attraction is the Buddha Temple built within the monastery premises. This monastery has three parts, Upper Gompa, Middle Gompa and Lower Gompa.
Tipi Orchidarium: Arunachal has the most important range of orchids in India. Tipi Orchidaria Bhalukpung within the west Kameng district near the banks of river Bharali is one among them. It shelters 500 or more sorts of orchids which grow abundantly in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Within the Orchid research centre, scientists create new hybrid sorts of orchids using the newest techniques of biotechnology. This place is additionally ideal for rafters and anglers.
Bomdila View Point: Bomdila View Point! Bomdila is at a height of 800 ft and the view point is probably the highest point in the town and provides beautiful views of the West Kameng valley and snow capped mountains. You can also see Nechipu Pass from the view point, Worth a visit for capturing nature's beauty at its best.
