DAY 01 : TRANSFER FROM DELHI TO NAINITAL

Arrival at Delhi. Proceed directly for Nainital by road. After freshening up at Nainital, we proceed for sightseeing, beginning with boating at the famous Naini lake and a visit to the holy Naina Devi temple. After that we go to the famous picnic spots like Naina peak, Snow view, Lands End etc. In the evening enjoy shopping at the Mall Road. Overnight at the hotel.

Nainital Lake : also known as Naini Lake a natural freshwater body, situated amidst the township of Nainital in Kumaon, tectonic in origin, is kidney shaped or crescent shaped and has an outfall at the south eastern end.

Nainital Lake, in the Nainital district called the Lake District of India, is one of the four Lakes of Kumaon hills; the other three lakes are Sattal Lake, Bhimtal Lake and Naukuchiatal Lake.

Nainital Devi Temple: The Temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hilltop, base of which also has samadhi of bhagat Jatt Jeona Morh, in the Bilaspur District, Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is connected with National Highway No. 21. The temple at the top of the hill can be reached via road (that curves round the hill up to a certain point) and then by concrete steps (that finally reach the top). There is also a cable car facility that moves pilgrims from the base of the hill all the way to the top.

The hills of Naina Devi overlook the Gobind Sagar lake. The lake was created by the Bhakra-Nangal Dam.Several stories are associated with the establishment of the templeAccording to legends and also written in Vedas and Puranas , Goddess Sati burnt herself alive in Yagna, which distressed Lord Shiva. He picked the body of Sati on his shoulder and started his Tandava dance. This horrified all deities in the heaven as this could lead to holocaust. This urged Lord Vishnu to unleash his Chakra that cut the Sati’s body into 51 pieces. Shri Naina Devi Temple is the place where the eyes of Goddess Sati fell down.

Kumaon : Kumaun is one of the two regions and administrative divisions of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the other being Garhwal. It spans over the eastern half of the state and includes the districts of Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar. It is bounded on the north by Tibet, on the east by Nepal, on the south by the state of Uttar Pradesh, and on the west by the Garhwal region. The people of Kumaon are known as Kumaonis and speak the Kumaoni language.

Naina Peak : Is highest hill top and one of the famous tourist spots in Nainital. This peak is also called as China Peak and Cheena Peak by locals in Nainital

DAY 02 : NAINITAL EXCURSION

After breakfast we proceed to Hanumangarh, a famous religious center and a beautiful picnic spot. Later, we proceed for an exciting lake tour where we visit three beautiful lakes -Bhimtal Naukuchiatal & Satta, situated at a distance of 5 to 8 kms from each other and known for their scenic beauty and lovely surroundings. Boating is permitted here.

Hanumangarh is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, situated on the banks of the river Ghaggar also identified as Ancient Sarasvati river, located about 400 km from Delhi. It is the administrative seat of Hanumangarh District. The city was once called Bhatner (alternatively spelled Bhatnair) because it was founded by king Bhupat in 255 AD. It remained in the control of the Rajputs of Bhati clan and later occupied by Rao Jetsa of Bikaner.

DAY 03 : TRANSFER FROM NAINITAL TO - ALMORA

After breakfast, visit Khurpatal , a small yet beautiful lake, situated around 10 kms from Nainital. On the way back, visit Killbury , a part of the reserve forest. In the afternoon check-out from the hotel and proceed to Almora .

DAY 04 : ALMORA EXCURSION

After breakfast we proceed for sightseeing at the beautiful spots of Almora - Bright and Corner , Deer park and Katarmal which are across the river Koshi. In the afternoon we proceed to Binsar (30 kms). In the evening take a close view of the town of Almora - walking down the Mall and shopping.

Places Include:

Katarmal : Is known for a relatively rare Surya temple, constructed by the Katyuri Kings in the 9th century CE. Katarmalla, a Katyuri king constructed this temple, which has 44 smaller temples around the main deity of Surya, which are called Burhadita or Buddhaditya.Other deities like Shiva-Parvathi and Lakshmi-Narayana. are also established in this temple complex. The carved wooden doors and panels were transported to the National Museum, Delhi, after an idol from the 10th century was stolen. The temple, which holds other carvings on walls and panels, was declared a monument of national importance under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958.

Deer Park : Is located in South Delhi also known as A.N. Jha Deer Park, named after famous social worker Aditya Nath Jha. This place is popular for walking, jogging and weekend outings. Deer Park comprises many subsections such as Duck Park, Picnic Spots Rabbit Enclosures etc. The Park has historical tombs of Mughal Era. The park is accessible from Safdarjung Enclave and Green Park, Hauz Khas Village. It is also connected to District Park thus making is approachable from R K Puram near the courts side of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association.

Koshi : Is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, Nepal and India. It drains the northern slopes of the Himalayas in Tibet and the southern slopes in Nepal. From a major confluence of tributaries north of the Chatra Gorge onwards, the Kosi River is also known as Saptakoshi for its seven upper tributaries. These include the Tamor River originating from the Kanchenjunga area in the east and Arun River and Sun Kosi from Tibet. The Sun Koshi's tributaries from east to west are Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi, Tamakoshi River, Likhu Khola and Indravati. The Saptakoshi crosses into northern Bihar, India where it branches into distributaries before joining the Ganges near Kursela in Katihar district.
The Kosi River is 720 km (450 mi) long and drains an area of about 74,500 km (28,800 sq mi) in Tibet, Nepal and Bihar. In the past, several authors proposed that the river has shifted its course for more than 133 km (83 mi) from east to west during the last 200 years. But a review of 28 historical maps dating 1760 to 1960 revealed a slight eastward shift for a long duration, and that the shifting was random and oscillating in nature.
Binsar : Was the summer capital of the Chand Kings, who ruled over Kumaon from the 11th to 18th centuries AD. Binsar was established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region, and it has over 200 bird species.

DAY 05 : ALMORA EXCURSION

After breakfast we drive to the spots of Almora from where we get a breathtaking view of the Mighty Himalayas. We then proceed to Lakhudiyar and Jageshwar , both around 20 to 40 kms from Almora. These are important prehistoric sites. Here we can see ancient temples and beautiful valleys surrounded by the magnificent and towering Deodar trees.

Places Include:

Lakhudiyar Caves : are located in the Barechhina village at the banks of the Suyal River in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. On the walls of the caves are paintings depicting animals, humans and also tectiforms, created with fingers in black, red and white. The caves have become a historically significant site. It was discovered in 1963.

Jageshwar : Is a Hindu pilgrimage town and one of the Dhams (pilgrimage region) in the Shaivism tradition. The site is protected under Indian laws, and managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It includes Dandeshwar Temple, Chandi-ka-Temple, Jageshwar Temple, Kuber Temple, Mrityunjaya Temple, Nanda Devi or Nau Durga, Nava-grah temple, a Pyramidal shrine, and Surya Temple. The site celebrates the Jageshwar Monsoon Festival during the Hindu calendar month of Shravan (overlaps with July–August) and the annual Maha Shivratri Mela (Shivratri festival), which takes place in early spring.
There are other Hindu temples in the Himalayan region that are called Jageshwar Temple such as one in Dalash, Himachal Pradesh.

DAY 06 : TRANSFER FROM ALMORA TO RANIKHET

After breakfast we check-out from the hotel and proceed for Ranikhet . In the afternoon we proceed to the beautiful Narsingh ground, Golf ground and Kalika . In the evening, we walk down the Mall and go shopping. Overnight at the hotel.

Ranikhet : Is a hill station in Uttarakhand State, northern India. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas. Hundreds of bells adorn Jhula Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. Fruit trees grow on the terraced orchards of Chaubatia Gardens, with views of peaks including Nanda Devi. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in a hut, Gandhi Kuti, in nearby Tarikhet village during the independence struggle

Golf : Course is the grounds where the game of golf is played. It comprises a series of holes, each consisting of a teeing ground, a fairway, the rough and other hazards, and a green with a flagstick.

DAY 07 : TRANSFER FROM RANIKHET TO DELHI

After breakfast we proceed to Chaubatia. From there we can have a picturesque view of the great Himalayas. Later we proceed to Bhalu Dam, a popular picnic spot with a small picturesque lake. After lunch we check-out from the hotel and proceed to Delhi by road.

Chaubattia: is a settlement in Almora district, in the state of Uttarakhand, northern India. It is located roughly 10 kilometres south of the cantonment town of Ranikhet. Chabattia is 1,800 metres above sea level, within sight of the western peaks of the Himalayas.
