Dimapur, Dimapur is a city in Nagaland, India. It is the most populous city of Nagaland and also the most densely populated city in the state with an estimated population of about three lakhs at MC level. The city is the main gateway and commercial centre of Nagaland.

Kohima, Kohima is the capital city of India’s north eastern state of Nagaland. With a resident population of almost 100,000, it is the second largest city in the state. Originally known as Kewhira, Kohima was founded in 1878 when the British Empire established its headquarters of the then Naga Hills.

Tuophema, Tuophema Tourist Village is located 41 km from Kohima has been modelled around the ethnic tourism model. Visitors are offered modern and hygienic accommodation in traditional huts in an ethnic setting, and can experience the local culture and cuisine.

Khonoma, Khonoma is an Angami Naga village located about 20 km west from the state capital, Kohima. The village is referred to as Khwuno-ra. The total population of the village is about 1943, settled in 424 households. It is the first green village in India.

DAY 01- ARRIVAL AT DIMAPUR AIRPORT & TRANSFER TO HOTEL & THEN ENJOY THE LOCAL SIGHTSEEING AT DIMAPUR

Dimapur is one of the largest cities in Nagaland. It was the capital of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom in the middle ages. You can go to Kohima which is located at 40 kms (2hrs 15min) drive from Dimapur. You can visit the Science Centre, Kachari Ruins, Green Park and Nagaland Zoological Park. After visiting all these places and enjoying the sightseeing at Dimapur return for an overnight stay.

Triple Falls: Located in Seithekima village and as the name says, these three glistening water streams trickling down from a height of 280 ft to a natural pool looks stunning.
Kachari Ruins: Kachari Ruins is famous for its monoliths . This is believed that the scattered stones and bricks are the remains of temples and embankments.
Zoological Park: The scenic park is situated at a distance of 6km from the city centre . The main motive to establish this park was to spread awareness about the protection of the flora and fauna. Also, but obvious, to protect them.
Science Centre: This is a different approach to introduce the miracles of science to the society. Nagaland science center is located behind Naga shopping arcade and is promoting creative learning through triumphant approaches.
Rangapahar reserve forest: Is one of the famous places of Dimapur known for its wild-life. Famous for its plant variety relevant to medicines. There is a variety of unique birds in this reserve and attracts many bird watchers to visit the place.
Chumukedima: Situated on the foothills of Naga Hills, is an ancient village located in the District headquarters of Dimapur, called Chumukedima. The village is famous for waterfalls.
Shiva Temple: Located in the region of Singrijan and certainly believed that it was built by villagers in 1961. Once, one of the villagers went to the Rangapahar Reserve Forest and found a stone which he sharpened with his knife later.
Diezephe village: The village is well known for its aesthetic handlooms and handicrafts and organizes various workshops. The craft and development society inaugurated a workshop which houses tools that could be used by the craftsmen.

DAY 02- LOCAL TOUR OF KOHIMA CITY

Kohima is the hilly capital city and the second largest city in the state. Kohima is the land of the Angami Naga tribe located in the foothills of Japfu range. You can visit the Catholic Church, Naga Heritage Village, Kohima War Cemetery, Nagaland States Museum etc. After enjoying the sightseeing at Kohima, return to the hotel for the night.
Places Include:
Kohima War Cemetery: Kohima War Cemetery is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the 2nd British Division of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, India, in April 1944. The soldiers died on the battleground of Garrison Hill in the tennis court area of the Deputy Commissioner's residence.
Dzukou Valley and Japfu Peak: located some 25 km south of Kohima, Dzukou valley and Japfu Peak offer one of the most breathtaking landscapes of the continent. Nagaland is called the 'Switzerland of the East' and Dzukou valley and Japfu Peak provide solid proof to that moniker. Dzukou valley and Japfu Peak trek is an absolute must for all trekking enthusiasts.
Kohima Museum : Nagaland is truly an amalgamation of various tribes! The Kohima Museum portrays the traditions and culture of the many tribes of the state. The museum holds many unique artifacts related to different tribes of the region.
Kohima Zoo: The zoo houses the state bird, the rare Tragopan bird, and the state animal, the wild buffalo. The zoo is created on a hill and the hill has been beautifully used to provide natural landscapes for the animals.
Shilloi Lake: A beautiful foot shaped lake in the heart of the Patkai range of Nagaland, Shilloi Lake is a very picturesque destination with verdant valleys surrounding it from all sides. The lake is considered very important by the folks of Latsum village as it is believed that the spirit of a holy child rests in the bottom of the lake. It is one of the reasons why no one fishes or uses the lake water for drinking and irrigation.
Naga Heritage Village: A village situated in the outskirts of Kohima, Naga Heritage Village in Kisama seeks to preserve and promote the culture and traditions of the Naga people. The name Kisama itself is an amalgamation of two Naga villages, namely, Kigwema (KI) and Phesama(SA) and MA (Village).

DAY 03- TRANSFER TO TUOPHEMA FROM KOHIMA & HAVE AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT TUOPHEMA

Tuophema is just 50 km drive from Kohima. Touphema is a tourist village built in collaboration with the Nagaland tourism department. Here you get to stay in traditional Naga huts and enjoy the typical Naga way of life. This village has a community kitchen for the guests and they serve some really delectable traditional Naga dishes for the guests with traditionally brewed rice beer. enjoy the panoramic views from the village as you take casual walks along the lanes of this magnificent village.

DAY 04 TRANSFER TO KHONOMA & LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

Khonoma is a picturesque village situated 20km from the capital Kohima. You can enjoy the view of dense forests, beautiful waterfalls and majestic mountains. The village is famous for its conservational ventures and has good connectivity with the outside world. You can visit the paddy terraces where 20 types of rice are grown. By preserving a large part of community forests, the village has set a good example. After enjoying the sightseeing at Khonoma, return back for an overnight stay at Khonoma.

DAY 05 EXPLORING SOME MORE NEW PLACES AT KHONOMA

You should surely visit the white pillar in the village which commemorates names of those warriors who died in Khonoma battle against the British and the names of the warriors are Major C.R Rock, Lieutenant H.H, Nurbir Sai, and G.H Damant. After visiting the tourist places, have an overnight stay.

DAY 6 TRANSFER TO DIMAPUR AIRPORT TIME TO SAY GOODBYE WITH A BAGFUL OF MEMORIES

As the journey winds up, you will drive from Khonoma to Dimapur. On your way, stop at the Pelekai Village, where you will witness the traditional salt preparation method. Post this, you will be driven to the Dimapur airport for departure.
